Abacraft is at its heart, a family business, and the Lowe family have been expertly applying their craft since the 1940s. The founder, Donald Lowe, began his career as an apprentice at Tudor Gallery, Birmingham; where he spent over a decade developing his skills. This extensive training led into his employment at the respected Coventry Framers, Thomas Friswell.
The second generation of the business began in the 1970s, after Donald’s son Peter completed his advanced City and Guilds Craftsmen’s qualifications. Following over 10 years of training, Peter assisted in the re-location of the business to the historic medieval town of Kenilworth, where the Abacraft name was created. Abacraft continues to apply its age-old techniques, consistently demonstrating its high focus on quality and craftsmanship; something that has been consistently acknowledged by our loyal customers countrywide.
